Scorpion Contracting Limitedis a New Zealand Kiwifruit Orchardist. We are looking for at least 3supervisors/team leaderswithexceptional skillsand the know-how of the industry to assist the Orchard Managers.
What does the role involve'
- You will be responsible for running a team of people both permanent and of the larger seasonal workforce in all aspects of orchard horticulture.
- Assist the Manager in running to a budget you will be required to maximize the efficiency of day-to-day orchard operations
- Ensure that successful seasonal horticultural activities lead to a top-quality product year after year.
- Effectively managing and leading staff through compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Management tasks such as preparing/keeping accurate timesheets, creating reports for work, communicating with farmers and growers, HR duties, and staff management/training.
What skills and experience are we looking for'
- You will have 6months of experience in the horticulture industry or experience managing a group of 5+ people in the workplace.
- Having a management qualification is preferred, but not essential
- Experience in developing and training people is essential to succeed in this role.
- Proven ability in implementing quality, H&S, and continuous improvement systems
- You will be confident in multi-tasking and will be calm under pressure.
- Well organised, goal-focused, able to show initiative, multi-task and make decisions.
We operate 7 days a week, Monday - Sunday between the hours of 7:30am - 6:00pm, weather dependant. The starting hourly rate for this role is $29.66, and a minimum of 30 hours per week. This is a permanent full time position.
Our worksites are based in and around the Bay of Plenty region and as the role will require some travel, the successful applicant will have their own transport.
